Potpourri Bowl

Leadwood

50mm tall and 150mm in diameter across the widest part

Gifted to my wife to be used as a prize in a competition at work

#047

The final form of this bowl was shaped by my wife’s feedback on what she found aesthetically pleasing. While the exterior presents a simple turn, hollowing the inner section posed a more significant challenge. Keen observers may notice the distinct colour variations among the three different Leadwood projects in my portfolio. My fascination with diverse species is what continually draws me back to the lathe, eager to explore yet another new species. This piece was meticulously sanded and polished to a 12000 grit finish and treated with Tung oil, enhancing its natural allure.
