My Work
Wood possesses an inherent unpredictability, making every project distinctively different. Each one comes with its own set of unique challenges and unexpected delights, fuelling my excitement every time I approach the lathe to begin a new piece. Success, however, is not always guaranteed. I've experienced the dramatic shattering of bowls on more than one occasion. Imperfections are a part of this journey, and over time, each piece will naturally evolve. My fascination lies in observing how various wood species react to the turning and finishing processes. This craft, to me, is about revitalizing something that might otherwise be discarded or destroyed, giving it a new, lasting life.
The projects showcased here are more than just objects; they are narratives, milestones marking my journey in woodturning. My objective with every project is to find a shape and finish that best exposes the beauty hidden inside the raw material.
All raw materials is sourced responsibly.
